The final bout (11) was a technical decision - where Gallagher (West Ham) sustained a cut to his head - deamed an accidental clash of heads, this meant we went to the Judges scorecards where Gola won via Split judges verdict.

The standard of boxing for each and every bout was absolutely fantastic and of the highest quality. Every single boxer gave it 100% and it was almost impossible to choose Bout of the Tournament as every bout was a contender.

For me, what edged it, would have to be the Super Heavyweight clash between Seb Brown and this season's England Boxing Male Class A 91+kg Senior Development National Champion, Soloman Dacres (Warley ABC). A truly textbook style Super Heavyweight contest which consisted of genuine skill and jab power. With so much potential on display from both boxers, dare I speak too early and forsee a future British Heavyweight Champion of the Professional Ranks?

At the much lower end of the weight scale, Zara Aitchinson was fearsome as she extended her unbeaten start to her amateur career. Kyla Verlander (Hastings West Hill ABC) had travelled all the way from East Sussex with a long 3 hour drive but still managed to avoid the "motorway lag" to put in a very gallant effort.

Ob Oko was much the same in his approach and despite giving his opponent Martyboy Evans (Derby City Boxing Academy ABC) a bloody nose he was still made to work hard. Martyboy refused to go down quietly and persisted in his attempt to deliver Ob with just as much trouble as he was receiving himself.

Johnny Connors contested a much tighter affair against Amrit Singh Toor (Warley ABC) and had to take in a few particular key instructions from Far Cotton Head Coach John Daly which worked to resounding effect. Having lost the first round and perhaps showing his opponent a little bit too much respect, Johnny soon found the angles and force required to box his way back and win by a split decision.

Callum Mills and Taylor Squires (Braunstone Golden Gloves ABC) finished the action just before the interval with a wonderful performance that saw both boxers pit each other to the edge and inflict a lot of pain on one another.

Morgan Bosley was just too good for Joe Silson (Bracebridge) on the day but the man from Lincoln didn't stop the former National Champion and Haringey Box Cup Gold Medalist from having it all easy. Joe weathered a good storm and still found the time to give his opponent a few frights of his own.

Drew Brown in his swansong amateur contest before turning Professional finished off in style with a return bout against experienced Ermal Dida (Bedford ABC). Both boxers took their time with this one but still battled throughout and delivered a quality contest to end the tournament.
